On 8 May 2010, at Gomel Social and Pedagogical Centre, ASDEMO ran a seminar dedicated to the Rights of the child. The seminar took part within the 'Rights for the future' project, supported by 'People in need' NGO from Czech Republic.

During the seminar, 20 children (10-17 year old) were instructed on basic priciples of the Convention of the Rights of the child, and they then took part in a learning game, whereby they were in more detail acquainted with the Convention as well as with those privileges that the state guarantees to graduates of parental homes in terms of their subsequent education, housing, and employment. The pupils solidified their newly acquired knowledge by trying to express it in their drawings. ASDEMO will use some video materials filmed during this seminar in order to create educational video clips on the Rights of the child for their subsequent presentation at various educational installations of Gomel and Gomel Region.   


Under the same project, from March to April 2010, ASDEMO ran a series of two-day seminars in social & pedagogical centres of Dobrush and Kalinkovichi (Gomel Region) that involved 71 children aged 10 to 18.  After participating in these seminars, children know much better their rights as well as guarantees to them on the part of the state.
